Position Overview:
The Finance & Insurance (F&I) Consultant will be responsible for building strong client relationships and showcasing deep industry and regulatory expertise through on-site audits, deal jacket reviews, and employee training. The goal is to help clients reduce risk and improve profitability.
This role is ideal for current Finance Managers or Directors in the automotive industry who are seeking a new challenge while staying connected to the field. Our F&I Consultants play a key role in helping dealerships maintain compliance.
Location:
This is a remote role based from a home office, with regular travel to client sites in the Sacramento area, including the North Bay Area, Modesto, and Redding. Overnight travel is required.
First 60 Days:
– Shadow current consultants to learn the KPA Sales and Finance Compliance Audit process.
– Gain proficiency in the Vera Suite system and mobile app.
– Attend in-person meetings and webinars about KPA’s compliance software.
– Take over a client base and build relationships with dealership management teams.
– Complete orientation and pass a compliance test to become a certified KPA F&I Consultant.
First 6 Months:
– Demonstrate strong industry and regulatory knowledge through audits, training, and client interactions.
– Plan client visits efficiently to optimize travel.
– Assist in preparing compliance documentation as needed.
By the End of Year One:
– Help implement sales and finance compliance systems.
– Contribute to company growth by providing excellent service and submitting 20 referrals or leads annually.
– Build strong relationships with dealership and association management.
– Deliver your first in-person presentation on dealership compliance and KPA’s role in supporting it.
Success Factors:
– Strong communication skills in person, in writing, and by phone.
– Professional, persuasive, and collaborative client interactions.
– Ability to work independently from a home office while representing KPA on-site.
– Interest in learning federal and state automotive regulations.
– Efficient account management and CRM documentation (Salesforce).
– Willingness to take on additional duties as needed.
Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience managing F&I regulations in an automotive dealership.
– In-depth knowledge of finance and sales compliance.
– Ability to stay current with legal and regulatory trends.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Effective communication at all levels.
– Independent, responsible, and results-driven.
– High integrity and commitment to compliance.
– Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and mobile technology.
Physical Requirements:
– Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites 4 days per week.
– Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
– Ability to stand for at least 6 hours per day.
– Adequate hearing and vision to ensure safety in various environments.
– Physical ability to bend, crouch, reach, and move items up to 20 pounds.
– Willingness to stay overnight in hotels several weeks per quarter.
Location & Travel:
– Remote position based in Sacramento with regular travel to regional clients.
– Travel includes 3–4 overnight stays per quarter and 2–4 air travel trips per year.
– Flexibility to cover other regions as needed.
Compensation:
$80,000–$90,000 annually, plus eligibility for a quarterly bonus plan estimated at $10,000 per year.
