Why We’re Hiring
We’re looking for a strategic and energetic Director of Events Marketing to lead and optimize our event marketing efforts. This includes managing social and community engagement, email campaigns, media partnerships, influencer collaborations, street teams, video content, and marketing before, during, and after events. The role covers a variety of live events such as conferences, trade shows, product launches, sponsorship activations, customer summits, and immersive experiences like ComplexCon, Family Style Food Festivals, and international events. Attendance at major events and festivals is expected.
What You’ll Do
– Campaign Strategy & Execution: Develop and lead integrated marketing campaigns for large-scale events, aligning strategies with event goals to drive ticket sales and audience engagement. Coordinate with artists, talent, and brand databases for promotion.
– Branding & Positioning: Define the event’s marketing and branding approach, ensuring all messaging and visuals resonate with the target audience.
– Digital & Social Media Marketing: Use a mix of digital platforms, social media, out-of-home advertising, radio, and emerging tech to promote events. Work with digital teams on content creation, paid ads, and influencer partnerships.
– Partnership & Sponsorship Activation: Collaborate with sponsors, media, PR, and talent agencies on co-branded campaigns. Manage key relationships to boost event exposure.
– Experiential Marketing: Lead on-site activations and brand experiences that enhance attendee engagement and create memorable moments.
– Analytics & Reporting: Analyze campaign data to assess performance and improve strategies. Share regular updates and post-event reports with leadership.
– Budget Management: Oversee event marketing budgets, ensuring smart allocation of funds across all marketing efforts.
– Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams across PR, digital, creative, finance, and operations to ensure smooth execution. Support ticketing, logistics, and collateral development.
– Event Promotion & Fan Experience: Connect with fans through social media, online communities, and on-site activations to build excitement and enhance the overall experience.
Who You Are
– 8–10 years of experience in event marketing, with a background in managing large-scale events.
– Proven ability to create and implement successful strategies across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats.
– Strong leadership, communication, and project management capabilities.
– Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments, especially in B2B SaaS, tech, or related sectors.
– Data-driven, with experience using CRM and marketing automation tools like Salesforce, Marketo, or HubSpot.
– Willingness to travel 20–40% of the time.
Preferred Skills
– Familiarity with ticketing systems, CRM platforms, and event management tools.
– Understanding of event logistics and how marketing integrates with production and on-site execution.
– Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite) are a plus.

Compensation
$120,000 – $135,000 annually
Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, and performance. This range is one part of Complex’s comprehensive benefits package.
