Are you a detail-oriented underwriting professional? We’re hiring an Underwriting Assistant who shares our passion for creating positive outcomes and delivering exceptional customer service.

In this role, reporting to the Team Lead, Underwriting, you’ll work closely with internal and external insurers, staff, and departments to maintain strong relationships. You’ll support underwriting processes and ensure data accuracy to help the team meet its goals.

Responsibilities:

– Issue documents and approve endorsements for in-house programs
– Support all underwriting processes to achieve team objectives
– Follow underwriting standards and best practices to reduce risk
– Manage the referral process to ensure proper task distribution
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date data for in-house program policies
– Provide brokers with necessary information to underwrite accounts
– Understand underwriting requirements, including endorsements and limits
– Meet service level agreements for Zensurance and partner markets
– Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy
– Escalate complex issues or complaints to the Underwriter or Team Lead
– Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
– Carry out other duties as needed

Requirements:

– 1+ years of insurance experience
– College diploma, university degree, or equivalent experience
– Preferred experience in Personal Lines or Commercial P&C underwriting
– General knowledge of insurance coverage
– Strong time management and task prioritization skills
– High attention to detail and strong work ethic
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
– Team player who collaborates effectively with others
