Spotify is looking for a talented and driven attorney to join its team as Legal Counsel, Regulatory. In this role, you’ll shape and implement Spotify’s regulatory compliance and legal engagement strategies, with a strong emphasis on the UK and European markets. You’ll work closely with business teams to provide legal guidance on cutting-edge global regulatory matters in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

What You’ll Be Doing

– Develop and carry out Spotify’s regulatory compliance and legal engagement plans, focusing on the UK and Europe.
– Work with legal experts across various fields to support Spotify’s global regulatory approach, including areas like consumer protection, privacy, data protection, content, intellectual property, artificial intelligence, and other relevant legal topics for digital and online services.
– Prepare and manage regulatory legal documents, including filings, responses to inquiries, and advocacy materials.
– Stay informed on new and evolving regulations, assess potential enforcement risks, and keep up with international legal and policy trends that could impact Spotify’s operations, especially in the digital space.
– Represent Spotify in meetings with regulatory bodies and explain the company’s stance on applicable regulations.
– Collaborate across legal and non-legal teams to develop regulatory responses and advise on compliance aspects of product updates.

Who You Are

– Legally qualified to practice in the UK or at least one EU country.
– Have over 5 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal team.
– Skilled in advising on regulatory matters related to tech products and online services, including legislation like the EU AI Act, EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, and EU Accessibility Act.
– Possess strong knowledge of legal issues affecting digital products, technology, privacy, IP, content and platform liability, consumer protection, media, AI, and related regulations.
– Proactive, solution-focused, and detail-oriented.
– A strong team player who works well with both legal and non-legal colleagues.

Where You’ll Work

– This position is based in either our London or Brussels office.
– We offer flexible work arrangements, including the option to work from home, with occasional in-person meetings.
