Scholar Rock is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering transformative therapies for people with serious conditions that lack effective treatment options. As a global leader in understanding the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) family of cell proteins—and named for the likeness between scholar rocks and protein structures—the clinical‑stage company focuses on pioneering treatments driven by the essential role of protein growth factors. Over the past decade, it has built a pipeline aimed at reshaping care standards for neuromuscular diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, cancer, and other conditions where targeting growth factors can be groundbreaking.
Scholar Rock is the only company to demonstrate clinical proof of concept for a muscle‑directed therapy in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Its commitment to pursuing fundamentally new therapeutic strategies is fueled by broad use of a proprietary platform that has produced innovative monoclonal antibodies capable of modulating growth factors with exceptional precision. By applying advanced science to disease areas historically underserved by conventional treatments, Scholar Rock works to open new possibilities for patients.
