6–12 month contract, immediate start only

Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions in close collaboration with engineering and architecture teams
• Carry out cloud engineering tasks within agile sprints using established best practices and templates
• Build new cloud environments for customers using native AWS or Azure services
• Apply core architectural principles and reusable components to create automated infrastructure, CI/CD processes, and supporting toolsets
• Present technical solutions to varied audiences, including developers, analysts, and executives
• Advise customer teams and decision makers on technology options, best practices, and the benefits of cloud‑native approaches
• Serve as the Rackspace representative in customer projects, ensuring quality, technical clarity, and successful delivery

Requirements
• Proven experience delivering complex cloud projects from concept to production
• Strong expertise in designing, deploying, and operating automated, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)
• Strong customer focus and willingness to handle provisioning, maintenance, and improvement of cloud systems
• Ability to participate in technical discussions at various levels, from architectural decisions to implementation details
• Use of automation‑driven principles within agile project frameworks
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with confidence in German‑speaking customer environments
• Fluent German skills (C1)

Experience
• Solid experience with cloud‑native architectures on AWS and/or Azure, covering both IaaS and PaaS
• Hands‑on experience building CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure‑as‑Code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, YAML, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Programming and scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript) and experience working in development or DevOps teams
• Familiarity with common cloud security concepts (IAM, KMS, Key Vaults, role‑based access control, etc.)
• Ideally, experience in enterprise‑scale environments with direct customer engagement
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical topics and act as a trusted advisor to customers
