About Synapticure
Founded by a patient and caregiver, Synapticure offers immediate access to expert neurologists, advanced treatments and clinical trials, and comprehensive care coordination and behavioral health support nationwide through its virtual care platform. Working with providers and health plans, including CMS’ new GUIDE dementia care model, the company is focused on improving the lives of people and families affected by neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS.

The Role
Synapticure is looking for a skilled and experienced Clinical Informatics Specialist to connect clinical teams with the technology systems that support them, including the EHR, data warehouse, and product platform. This role is key to streamlining provider workflows, maintaining documentation accuracy, and enhancing clinical operations across the organization’s multi-state telehealth neurology practice.

Reporting to the VP of Clinical Operations, the Clinical Informatics Specialist will turn clinical requirements into technical solutions that improve quality of care, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong clinical knowledge combined with deep experience in EHR systems, informatics, and workflow optimization, and thrives in a mission-driven, fast-moving environment.

Job Duties
Workflow Optimization and System Configuration
• Act as the clinical expert on EHR functionality.
• Build and maintain clinical tools such as note templates, order sets, smart phrases, and decision-support elements.
• Identify and address workflow issues that hinder provider efficiency.
• Develop specialized documentation templates for complex neurodegenerative conditions to support structured data capture for research and reporting.

Training, Education, and Support
• Create and deliver training programs for new and current clinical staff on EHR use and documentation standards.
• Teach clinicians about documentation rules related to compliant coding, time-based billing, and telehealth modifiers.
• Provide frontline support for clinical system problems and serve as the final escalation point before involving IT or vendors.

Data Integrity and Quality Improvement
• Work with Data and Analytics teams to define and validate clinical data needs and ensure accurate, structured data flows into the data warehouse.
• Partner with the VP of Clinical Operations to design and validate dashboards that track clinical performance and quality metrics.
• Assist with internal and external compliance audits related to HIPAA, coding standards, and other regulations.

Project and Product Collaboration
• Serve as the clinical liaison to Product and Technology teams, translating workflow needs into technical requirements.
• Lead user acceptance testing and validation for all clinical system updates.
• Contribute to product planning by representing clinician needs and advocating for tools that improve efficiency in care delivery.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required; clinical licensure or certification strongly preferred.
• At least four years of experience in clinical informatics, health IT, or a combination of clinical practice and EMR configuration or training.
• Proven experience configuring and managing EHR systems; experience with Canvas or similar telehealth platforms is a major plus.
• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and E/M coding and how they align with documentation workflows.
• Skill with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI; SQL knowledge is helpful.
• Demonstrated success in designing and leading training programs for clinicians.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities with the skill to translate between technical and non‑technical groups.
• A deep understanding of patient care and clinical workflow needs in a telehealth setting.

Our Values
As a company founded by a patient and caregiver and operating fully remotely, our values guide everything we do, no matter where we are located:
• Relentless commitment to patients and caregivers — we prioritize an exceptional experience for every patient.
• Honor the spirit and humanity of those living with neurodegenerative disease — we meet challenges with empathy, compassion, joy, and hope.
• Stay curious and seek understanding — we listen first, communicate honestly, and remain open to learning.
• Embrace the mission — we are motivated by our purpose and take action to achieve it.

Travel Expectations
This is a remote role. Occasional travel to Chicago or other team meetings may be required.

Salary and Benefits
• Competitive pay based on experience
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage
• 401(k) with employer match
• Remote‑first work environment with home office support
• Generous paid time off and sick leave
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
