The Role
The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining medical records, completing paperwork, arranging specialist referrals, handling prior authorizations, greeting patients virtually before their neurology appointments, and performing other clinical and administrative tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
Job Duties – What you’ll do
• Follow HIPAA standards while advocating for patients and families in interactions with clinicians, billing departments, insurers, and other care partners.
• Ensure high‑quality service and maintain strict privacy and confidentiality.
• Adhere to standardized workflows, operating procedures, quality controls, and documentation practices to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
• Build positive, effective relationships within the Care Coordination team and the broader Synapticure staff to support a seamless patient experience.
• Work with internal groups to ensure Synapticure is accurately represented to external audiences.
• Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with medical and community partners.
• Communicate confidently about the company and its programs both internally and externally.
Requirements – What we seek
• Active Medical Assistant certification
• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Preferred:
– Experience handling and reviewing medical records
– Background in a startup or rapidly growing organization
– Experience managing referrals
– Excellent communication skills
– Bilingual in English and Spanish

Compensation is $19 to $22 per hour.
This is a remote position based out of your home, and all required technology will be provided.
Salary and Benefits
This is a full‑time role with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance. You will also be eligible for an annual bonus and equity in Synapticure.
