We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Technician/Specialist to support our Land Survey group in producing high-quality survey deliverables for New York City and New York State agency projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, a solid understanding of survey workflows, and direct experience with MTA, DDC, DEP, DOT, Parks, and other public agencies.
What you’ll do:
• Draft and prepare survey drawings, including topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, right‑of‑way, and utility surveys, following agency requirements.
• Process field data and develop accurate base maps and digital terrain models.
• Ensure all CAD deliverables comply with NYC agency standards, coordinate systems, and layer naming conventions.
• Work closely with field crews, project managers, and engineers to maintain data accuracy and address discrepancies.
• Develop record maps, easement maps, as‑built drawings, and exhibits for legal descriptions.
• Organize and manage CAD files and survey data across multiple projects.
• Support proposals and QA/QC efforts by maintaining documentation and CAD templates.
Minimum qualifications:
• At least 5 years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying or civil design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus.
• Proven experience with New York City and State agency projects (MTA, DDC, DEP, DOT, Parks, etc.).
• Strong understanding of survey data processing, coordinate systems, and geospatial references.
Preferred qualifications:
• Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Associate degree or higher in Surveying, Civil Technology, or a related field is preferred.
