Primary Functions
• Independently design and build applications using web technologies.
• Develop and maintain reference implementations of HL7 FHIR standards.
• Write and update product and support documentation.
• Review requirements and propose high-level designs and technical solutions throughout development.
• Assess solutions to ensure interoperability, performance, and maintainability.
• Follow established coding standards.
• Participate in and provide final approval for code reviews.
• Research technologies for new and existing solution modules, such as machine learning tools and data storage frameworks.
• Offer guidance on strong technical design and industry best practices.
• Break down tasks for teammates and act as the main point of contact for project issues and updates.
• Model best practices for the team and department.
• Ensure all working hours are accurately logged in NetSuite, with most or all marked as billable, and fully leverage the project management features in NetSuite.
• Track and report billable hours, a key responsibility for project delivery.
• Follow privacy, security, and confidentiality policies.

Prerequisites
• Over 8 years of software development experience.
• Full‑stack expertise in Java, NextJS (JavaScript), and HAPI FHIR (especially CQF Ruler), with a strong focus on backend development.
• Senior-level proficiency with Java, Spring, REST APIs, SQL, and Git.
• At least intermediate-level skills in UI development.
• Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, and remain solutions-focused.
• Experience developing middleware products, writing unit tests, and handling transaction processing.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Ability to maintain repositories with an emphasis on code quality and health.
• Experience building features end-to-end.
• Healthcare, HL7, or FHIR experience is strongly preferred.
