The Genetics Lead is responsible for directing genetics programs, operations, and quality initiatives. This role works closely with the broader clinical, product, and operations teams, as well as other departments across the organization. In partnership with the leader of our PC, this individual helps drive shared goals by ensuring the network maintains the highest levels of quality assurance and patient care.
This is a contract 1099 position requiring 10–20 hours per week.
What You’ll Do:
• Create, update, and enhance educational resources for genetic counselors.
• Review and improve departmental operations to increase speed, quality, and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain clinical protocols, patient consult documentation templates, and clinical forms such as intake documents and questionnaires.
• Address clinical questions from patients and providers that are escalated by patient coordinators.
• Act as the internal subject matter expert on clinical best practices and requirements in genetics and genetic counseling.
• Work with prospective and existing clients, including labs, provider groups, and payers, to assess whether their tests meet the clinical and analytical standards required for partnership, and ensure proper understanding and implementation of Everly Health Solutions’ oversight standards.
• Build and sustain strong client relationships.
• When needed, assist in hiring, managing, supporting, and training the genetic counselor network.
Who You Are:
• Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
• Hold a master’s degree in genetics or a related discipline.
• Have over 5 years of experience in a clinical, patient-facing role.
• Have at least 3 years of management experience.
• Able to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• Self-driven, highly organized, and skilled at managing time.
• Technologically adept and forward-looking.
• Committed to exceptional patient care and able to balance assertiveness with flexibility.
• Comfortable working in fast-changing environments.
• Capable of handling multiple priorities and responding to inquiries promptly.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Willing and able to learn new tools such as Jira, Slack, and Google Workspace, and proficient with Microsoft Office or similar applications.
