Our International Accounting & Finance team is looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join us on a contract basis to cover a maternity leave. The team manages our local and international financial reporting, internal controls, inter-company activities, and transfer pricing.
In this role, you will support the month-end close and reporting process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and other assigned tasks. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles, audit concepts, and the monthly close cycle. You will report to the Head of Accounting within the international accounting team and collaborate closely with the broader Finance and Accounting teams.
You will:
• Prepare and review month-end journal entries, working with different areas of the business to ensure accurate transaction reporting.
• Ensure the company’s financial statements are accurate, complete, and compliant with US GAAP and local GAAP.
• Prepare flux and variance analyses during the monthly close.
• Compile materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and annual basis.
• Review balances and prepare reconciliations for both US GAAP and local GAAP ledgers, resolving differences promptly.
• Support the annual US financial statement audit, internal audits, and local statutory audits.
• Build, document, and assist with process improvements.
• Maintain the VAT register and support VAT returns and submissions.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the international accounting team as needed.
Requirements:
• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA, or ACA).
• Strong analytical abilities and advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
• Solid understanding of management and financial accounting.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization.
• Proactive, self-directed, creative thinker who learns quickly in a fast-paced setting.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with Oracle and Xero is a significant advantage.
