A unique chance for recovery coaches and peers to share their voices and make an impact!

Marigold Health is seeking a creative peer or recovery coach to support individuals on their wellness and reduced substance use journeys through a new model of technology-enabled peer support. The role may be full-time or part-time depending on organizational needs and your background. Our app operates 24/7, with shift options between 8 AM and 1 AM EST.

Marigold Health exists to ensure that anyone living with a mental health or substance use condition has a place to feel understood. Our mission centers on delivering evidence-based, virtual peer support to people pursuing recovery or looking to reduce harm from substance use.

We’ve created an innovative program that enhances traditional peer support with technology such as automated interactive outreach and asynchronous digital group discussions. The Marigold mobile app offers multiple ways for people in recovery to build recovery capital and strengthen their support networks.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is enthusiastic about bringing peer support and recovery coaching into a virtual space. You will help drive interaction, participation, and engagement in app-based Groups and Forums, creating a supportive environment where members can learn from one another throughout their recovery.

What You’ll Do

• App Chat Moderation and Engagement
• Spark meaningful conversations by posting prompts, especially those related to recovery. Share your own lived experience with mental health or addiction to support others on their recovery path.
• Use your background to connect with referral agencies and expand our resource database.
• Monitor group chats and forum discussions to keep them productive, on-topic, and aligned with Marigold’s Code of Conduct by watching for hate speech, spam, inappropriate language, or abusive content.
• Review content flagged by NLP tools and take appropriate action, including removing content that violates guidelines.
• Follow up with members after violations and involve other peer support team members when needed.

• Member Management
• Welcome and engage new members to ensure they feel supported immediately.
• Pause or remove members from groups when appropriate or collaborate with administrators for more serious concerns.
• Monitor crisis situations and ensure a Peer Support Specialist or Recovery Coach follows up when needed.
• Document all work according to Marigold’s standards and applicable guidelines.

What You Have

• Completion of relevant training (certification-ready) as a Peer Specialist or Recovery Coach in your state. Recovery Coach certification in Massachusetts is strongly preferred.
• Reliable internet access in a private workspace (we provide equipment such as a laptop).
• Comfort using a smartphone, computer, and tools like Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Ability to document interactions in an electronic record.
• Willingness to share your personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use.
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or seek clarification.
• Experience creating wellness plans or recovery goals.
• Ability to adapt and prioritize based on member needs.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-Haves
• Experience providing digital peer support (e.g., via social media).
• Fluency in Spanish.

Reporting, Compensation, and Benefits

• Reports to the Manager of Peer Services
• Full-time, exempt, salaried position
• Hourly rate: $25.00
• 3 days of PTO
• Access to a 401(k)
• Company-provided equipment

Pay range: $24–$26 per hour
