Skydance Animation is seeking a seasoned Production Accountant to support its Animation division. In this role, you will handle all production-related financial and accounting activities, including cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management, accounts payable and payroll, general accounting, and various ad‑hoc analyses. You will work closely with Film Production Management, Producers, and the Director of Production Finance.

Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing all financial aspects of production accounting, such as budgeting, cash flow, cost tracking, variance analysis, EFC forecasting, quota and productivity reporting, and monthly reconciliation with the corporate ledger.
• Partnering with Production leadership to build and manage schedules and budgets that keep films on track financially.
• Delivering clear, accurate, and timely planning scenarios and analysis to Production and Studio management throughout a film’s lifecycle.
• Identifying and helping resolve budgeting and staffing challenges.
• Working with Show leadership to evaluate production performance against quotas, milestones, complexity targets, and budget, and preparing executive summaries of these findings.
• Coordinating with the SAM/Madrid Finance team on cost and EFC reporting for both expenses and crew weeks.
• Adjusting to evolving situations, anticipating issues, and proposing solutions that align with Studio goals.
• Communicating issues clearly and collaborating with Production Leadership to problem-solve using active listening and knowledge of animation workflows.
• Producing accurate and timely cost reports, cash flow and headcount forecasts, Staffing Profiles, and Smart Accounting/Trial Balance reconciliations.
• Following all Studio procedures related to POs, invoices, checks, and timecard approvals.
• Working with the Production Finance team to develop best practices, ensure consistency across shows, and maximize efficiency.
• Partnering with Studio HR and Recruiting to determine appropriate hiring needs and processes.
• Overseeing and approving all staffing documents, including terminations, dismissal pay, vacation payouts, and bill backs.
• Supervising the Assistant Production Accountant to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely payment processing.
• Mentoring and training the Assistant Production Accountant to support strong performance.

Requirements include:
• At least 5 years of production accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Smart Accounting experience is a plus.
• A degree in Business or Accounting is preferred.
• Animation industry experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAG and IA pay practices (especially 839 and 700) is preferred.

The salary range for this exempt Los Angeles–based role is $140,000 to $185,000 annually. The actual offer may vary depending on location, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
