The Communications Intern plays a key supporting role on Gopuff’s fast-paced and efficient communications team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this position assists with a wide range of daily tasks across media relations, internal communications, and influencer marketing. It offers an excellent opportunity for an emerging professional to build experience in consumer, internal, corporate, and crisis communications.

Responsibilities
• Build media lists and aid in media outreach, helping to develop strong media relationships and handle incoming press inquiries.
• Write pitches, blog content, press releases, internal messages, and other materials.
• Collaborate with teams such as merchandising and marketing to identify compelling stories and help secure relevant media coverage.
• Assist in thought leadership and executive communication efforts by preparing briefs.
• Help identify, evaluate, and recruit content creators for brand partnerships and company programs.
• Provide administrative support, including preparing mailers and coordinating sample shipments.
• Monitor media coverage and compile results for the Gopuff leadership team.
• Research and draft ongoing reports on company developments, competitors, and industry trends.
• Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions for promotional initiatives.
• Track cultural trends to identify timely opportunities aligned with company goals.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
• Preference for candidates based in Philadelphia or New York City.
• Experience pitching and building relationships with media and influencers.
• Familiarity with the podcast and Substack landscape.
• Skills in photography, graphic design, and content creation.

Minimum Requirements
• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student (18+), with relevant work or internship experience.
• Strong academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher).
• Ability to work at least 20 hours per week from June 2 to August 8 (10 weeks), with a preference for availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
• Excellent communication, organizational, writing, and editing abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and meet tight deadlines.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with proven critical-thinking ability.
• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and action-oriented.
