We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Staff Accountant to join our team. This role reports to the Manager of North America Accounts Payable in New York City and will collaborate with various departments across Spotify.
The successful candidate will help ensure the accuracy of our financial records, offer meaningful insights, and contribute to process enhancements. The ideal applicant will have experience handling vendor payment transactions, ensuring invoices are paid accurately and on time, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and vendors.
What You’ll Be Doing
– Manage vendor payments in line with agreed terms and deadlines
– Keep accurate and well-organized records of invoice payments
– Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with invoices or payments
– Maintain strong, positive relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, addressing concerns as needed
– Support month-end close processes related to accounts payable
– Create and deliver reports on accounts payable activities
– Collaborate with teams such as Source to Pay, Content, Marketing, and Tax to improve procedures
– Take on additional duties including supporting new business initiatives, conducting ad hoc analyses, and participating in assigned projects
Who You Are
– Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
– Have 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
– Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Thrive in a fast-paced work environment
– Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management abilities
– Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
– Work well independently and in a team setting
– Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Coupa) is a plus
Where You’ll Work
– This position is based in New York, NY
– We offer flexible work arrangements. While some in-person meetings are required, you’ll have the option to work from home. We ask that you come into the office 2–3 days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role in the U.S. is $64,541 to $92,201, plus equity. Benefits include health insurance, six months of paid parental leave, a 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid vacation days, 13 paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. Final compensation level will be determined during the interview process based on experience and performance.
