The Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the daily financial operations of the Billing/Revenue Cycle Department.
The position starts at $19.25 per hour with weekly pay. Paid time off and benefits are available after 30 days of employment. After training, the role transitions to a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office and two days working remotely each week.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Generating billing reports for assigned agencies
– Submitting accounts receivable claims or invoices for weekly/monthly billing
– Reconciling accounts for designated state or local agencies
– Researching and resubmitting billing information as needed
– Conducting quality assurance reviews on referrals and client updates from assigned agencies
– Communicating via phone and email with agencies to gather accurate information on referrals, client updates, and billing
Required Qualifications:
– High School Diploma or GED
– At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, such as billing, patient registration, or access
– Intermediate proficiency in Excel
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail
– Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments
– Self-motivated with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
– Must have a wired broadband internet connection (cable or fiber optic; satellite, 4/5G, or DSL not accepted)
– Must have a quiet, distraction-free workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, medical administrative assistance, or healthcare finance
– Experience with electronic claims processing (e.g., 835/837 files, Zirmed, secure payer portals)
– AAHAM certification
Physical Requirements:
– Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements
– Primarily sedentary work, involving extended periods of sitting
– Visual acuity including peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
