Position Overview
The Clinical Trial Manager (CTM) plays a key leadership role in study operations. This position is responsible for the successful planning and execution of clinical trials or projects, including decentralized trials when applicable. The CTM ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards. This role is essential for implementing trials across Care Access’s organizational and site network.

What You’ll Be Working On (Key Responsibilities):

– Lead and manage studies or projects according to defined scope, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
– Develop strategies to ensure trials are executed as per protocol and schedule.
– Monitor project progress and ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
– Proactively identify and manage risks, implementing mitigation strategies within cross-functional teams.
– Serve as the main point of contact between Care Access and the sponsor, ensuring smooth communication.
– Escalate issues appropriately and provide timely updates to senior leadership.
– Coordinate cross-functional teams to support trial execution.
– Hold team members accountable for trial outcomes and lead them to success.
– Oversee activities of all departments and vendors involved in the project.
– Collaborate with teams to develop implementation plans using Care Access tools.
– Identify and track key data for informed decision-making and monitor project performance.
– Assess opportunities for growth within current or future engagements and help shape strategic initiatives.
– Ensure accurate and timely updates in internal tracking systems.
– Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans with the team.
– Provide sponsors with regular updates and ensure accurate interpretation of protocols.
– Gather and incorporate sponsor feedback on Care Access’s performance.
– Communicate project priorities and delegate tasks appropriately.
– Work with department managers to optimize team performance and resource use.
– Ensure team members receive necessary training related to the project or therapeutic area.
– Schedule and lead meetings, document discussions, and follow up on action items.
– Maintain project logs and trackers.
– Offer solutions to project-specific challenges via established escalation channels.
– Follow escalation protocols for issues outside defined parameters.
– Report findings from quality reviews and peer feedback.
– Collaborate with other CTMs and leadership to share best practices.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

– This is a fully remote position requiring regular computer use.
– Up to 25% travel may be required, primarily within the U.S.
– Travel is generally scheduled and planned in advance.

Certifications, Education, and Experience:

– Experience in clinical trials is required.
– Experience with decentralized trials is preferred.
– Background in site operations, especially within a site network, is preferred.
– PMP certification is a plus.
– Bachelor’s degree required.
– Minimum of 6 years in the clinical trial or pharmaceutical industry.
– At least 4 years of project management experience, including client interaction.
– 1–2 years of experience in strategy consulting.
– Experience managing external vendors (e.g., e-consent platforms).
– Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
– Experience managing multiple projects across different therapeutic areas.
– Skilled in identifying and resolving project-related issues.
– Experience reporting project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
