The Insurance Benefit Verification Coordinator II supports GRAIL’s REACH Medicare IDE Study by performing routine and semi-routine insurance verification tasks. Working under general supervision, this role ensures accurate insurance checks, effective communication with study sites, and adherence to company policies. This full-time position requires a detail-oriented, dependable individual with strong customer service skills to support both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

– Conduct routine insurance benefit verifications for study participants using established procedures and systems, including individual and bulk eligibility checks, with accurate documentation.
– Provide phone support to study site partners during business hours to address insurance or cost-related inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
– Use knowledge of various insurance types (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, commercial plans) to complete verifications and follow-ups, recognizing when to seek guidance for exceptions.
– Accurately maintain and update patient demographic and insurance data in relevant systems, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
– Collaborate with team members and other departments to complete tasks and uphold service quality.
– Suggest improvements to enhance process efficiency or accuracy.
– Perform additional duties related to benefit verification and claims support as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or Associate Degree required.
– 1–2 years of experience in insurance verification, healthcare billing, or a related administrative role.
– Familiarity with major insurance providers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Medicare, and Medicaid.
– Understanding of various insurance plan types (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, PPO, HMO, etc.).
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures accurately.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous approach.
– Ability to work independently within defined guidelines and meet deadlines.
– Basic skills in data entry, Microsoft Office, and CRM or eligibility verification systems.
– Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time)

The expected annual base salary for this full-time role ranges from $43,000 to $53,000, depending on experience, skills, and location.

Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or incentive plan based on individual and company performance, along with a long-term incentive plan to support shared success.
