Creative Strategist
The Creative Strategist plays a vital pre-sales role within the Brand Partnerships team, responsible for developing persuasive pitch decks that highlight innovative advertising opportunities. From major events like ComplexCon to custom content and digital-first campaigns, this role blends creativity, strategy, and business insight. The Senior Creative Strategist uses cultural trends, audience insights, and market data to craft ideas that connect with both brands and consumers, ensuring profitability through detailed financial planning. This high-impact, client-facing role turns bold ideas into actionable, marketable solutions for advertisers.
Who You Are
– 5+ years of experience in brand or creative strategy within media, advertising, or entertainment.
– Skilled in Keynote, PowerPoint, and/or Google Slides; knowledge of Figma is a plus.
– Strong understanding of youth culture, digital media, branded content, and emerging trends.
– Strategic thinker with creative flair and strong presentation design skills.
– Excellent writer and storyteller, able to convey big ideas clearly and visually.
– Capable of blending cultural insights, audience data, and creative concepts into compelling brand narratives.
– Experienced in developing high-budget proposals, campaign decks, and internal strategy documents.
– Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to high-quality work.
– Comfortable in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
– Effective at managing time, priorities, and deadlines independently.
– Familiar with Complex’s brand voice and tone.
What You’ll Do
– Develop compelling, client-ready presentations that align brand goals with culturally relevant creative ideas and Complex’s editorial tone.
– Design impactful pitch decks that highlight new events, sponsorships, and branded content opportunities for advertisers.
– Manage pre-sale campaign budgets, ensuring profitability by tracking costs and margins across events, content, and commerce.
– Stay informed on cultural, digital, and social trends—especially in youth culture—and apply these insights to creative strategies.
– Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Editorial teams to create brand opportunities that resonate with our audience and meet client objectives.
– Maintain high standards for presentation design and storytelling, working with the Creative Director to ensure consistency and quality.
Compensation: $8,000 – $10,000 per month
This range includes salary and commission. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
