About the Role
We’re seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join our expanding team. In this role, you’ll help build scalable, reliable data pipelines using modern tools and technologies at one of Canada’s fastest-growing startups. You’ll be responsible for creating robust ELT pipelines for large datasets, maintaining high data quality and system uptime, and collaborating closely with analysts on a full-stack data team. You’ll have the freedom to make a real impact while solving complex technical challenges.

What You’ll Work On

– Developing and maintaining data pipelines that process large volumes of data from multiple sources
– Setting up Reverse-ETL processes to support operational analytics
– Writing automated tests to ensure data accuracy and system reliability
– Enhancing the performance and efficiency of our data platform

Our Tech Stack

– Service-oriented architecture with multiple microservices, including bot platforms, NLP engines, and pricing/recommendation systems
– Modern data tools like Airflow, Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Hightouch, and more
– A custom-built event logging system that handles terabytes of data weekly
– Distributed ELT infrastructure hosted on Kubernetes and AWS

About You

– 6–18 months of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment
– Quick learner, adaptable to different languages and technologies
– Skilled in building scalable data pipelines and insightful reporting tools
– Enjoys solving complex problems with logical and thoughtful solutions

Compensation: $34.50 – $40 per hour, based on the number of previous internships or work terms completed, in accordance with our intern pay structure.
