I’m looking to hire a UI designer to join our small, fully remote team. We offer flexible working hours and are open to either full-time or part-time arrangements. We anticipate having at least a year’s worth of work, with the potential for a long-term collaboration if things go well.

Your responsibilities will include:

– Speaking with customers to understand how our product falls short of their needs.
– Designing solutions for our development team to build.
– Validating those improvements with users.
– Repeating this process to continually enhance the product.

You’re a great fit if you:

– Have 3+ years of UI design experience and a background in customer research.
– Are self-driven and capable of solving problems independently.
– Communicate clearly in both written and spoken English.
– Reside in North or South America.

Our company, Custody X Change, has been around since 2004. We offer a web-based tool that helps separated or divorced parents create co-parenting schedules and plans. It supports families in making tough decisions and improves communication between parents, reducing conflict and saving on legal costs.

Our top priority right now is improving our mobile experience. Our product is a progressive web app (PWA), originally designed for desktop and then made responsive. We want to shift to a mobile-first design approach, which will also benefit the desktop version. While we’ve done usability testing for desktop, we haven’t yet conducted mobile-specific research. Enhancing the mobile experience will boost user engagement and satisfaction, especially as we validate changes with users.

If you’re excited about improving a meaningful product and working with a small, distributed team, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply, email me at the address below and:

– Attach your resume as a PDF.
– Include the word “lime” in your email subject line.
– Answer these three questions in your email, in this order:
1. Where do you live?
2. Why are you a strong candidate for this role? (50–100 words)
3. What salary would make you happy in this fully remote role? Are you seeking full-time or part-time work?

Thanks,
Ben

P.S. I want you to enjoy working here. You’ll be evaluated based on your results—nothing else.
