Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit & Risk, the Director will lead a team across the US and EMEA and work closely with cross-functional partners in business, engineering, and finance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing both financial and technical systems, including cloud-native, engineering-led controls. The Director will play a vital role in shaping Spotify’s audit and risk strategies as the company continues to grow and innovate.

What You’ll Do:

– Serve as a key liaison between audit, engineering, and finance teams.
– Use technical expertise to improve audit efficiency through tools like generative AI, robotic process automation, and other technologies.
– Manage the planning, execution, and reporting of financial and operational audits, with a focus on Finance and Financial Engineering, including audits of engineering-owned controls in a cloud-based environment.
– Collaborate with management to develop and track remediation plans for control issues.
– Conduct special projects and advisory work, applying risk and control knowledge along with analytical and investigative skills.
– Mentor and support a team of internal audit professionals to ensure high-quality audit outcomes and professional growth.
– Prepare reports for the Head of Internal Audit & Risk, stakeholders, and the Audit Committee on audit findings, risks, and initiatives.

Who You Are:

– Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications like CPA, CIA, or CISA are strongly preferred.
– Have 15+ years of progressive experience in internal/external audit, compliance, or controls, including leading SOX programs and auditing financial and technical controls in a global public company.
– Possess deep knowledge of SOX frameworks and experience testing business process and IT general controls.
– Understand software development lifecycles, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices.
– Experience in music, digital subscriptions, technology, or ad media is a plus.
– Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in risk analysis.
– Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly present complex issues and solutions.
– Bring high energy, curiosity, and a strong work ethic, with a focus on continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Where You’ll Be:

– This position is based in New York or Stockholm.
– Spotify supports flexible work arrangements, with an average of two in-office days per week for collaboration with stakeholders and teammates.

Compensation and Benefits:

– U.S. base salary range: $193,090 to $275,843, plus equity.
– Benefits include health insurance, six months of paid parental leave, 401(k), monthly meal allowance, 23 paid vacation days, 13 flexible holidays, and paid sick leave.
– Salary ranges may be adjusted in the future.
