Role Overview

The AI Engagement Director is a senior consulting leader responsible for ensuring the successful execution of AHEAD’s agentic AI initiatives. This role oversees the full lifecycle of client transformations—from defining strategy to supervising execution and ensuring value delivery. The Director works closely with C-suite and senior leaders, shaping vision, aligning teams, removing obstacles, and ensuring AHEAD delivers measurable and lasting results.

This leader combines strategic consulting, program leadership, and hands-on delivery oversight. They ensure work is completed effectively, risks are identified and managed, client satisfaction is high, and outcomes meet expectations.

Strategic Rationale

As organizations adopt agentic AI at scale, they require senior leaders who can turn strategy into working solutions. This role ensures clients succeed across vision, execution, governance, and adoption while upholding AHEAD’s high delivery standards.

Role Scope and Focus

• Engagement Ownership and Delivery Leadership
– Own engagement outcomes from design through execution
– Lead daily steering, issue management, prioritization, and executive alignment
– Ensure strong governance, risk mitigation, and consistent delivery

• Strategic Advisory
– Shape AI strategies, operating models, and transformation plans
– Convert AI capabilities into business results and actionable roadmaps

• Executive Engagement
– Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives
– Support decision-making, alignment, and investment prioritization

• Oversight of Cross-Functional Teams
– Lead teams across AI engineering, data, cloud, and change management
– Maintain quality and consistency in approach and deliverables
– Define team structure, expectations, and working rhythm

• Governance, Risk, and Responsible AI
– Implement and operationalize governance frameworks
– Track regulatory updates, security needs, and responsible AI practices

• Business Alignment and Value Realization
– Establish KPIs and measure delivered value
– Ensure programs deliver tangible impact and long-term adoption

• Thought Leadership and Market Presence
– Represent AHEAD at client and industry events
– Develop insights and reusable assets that strengthen AHEAD’s market position

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Engagement Delivery
– Lead planning, scoping, staffing, and execution of AI programs
– Run steering committees, guide delivery leaders, and manage major risks
– Ensure solutions meet business goals, technical requirements, and timelines

• Strategy and Roadmap Development
– Develop enterprise AI strategies, operating models, and implementation plans
– Ensure strategies are executable, measurable, and connected to financial outcomes

• Executive Advisory
– Support decisions on use cases, architecture, readiness, funding, and governance
– Maintain strong senior relationships and trusted-advisor standing

• Governance and Risk Management
– Implement responsible AI, compliance, and security frameworks
– Ensure AI systems satisfy regulatory and ethical standards

• Cross-Functional Team Leadership
– Lead teams of data engineers, ML engineers, product managers, and change leaders
– Clarify roles, deliverables, dependencies, and quality criteria
– Support team development, feedback, and coaching

• Value Realization and Business Impact
– Define KPIs, track benefits, and ensure outcomes are captured and communicated
– Shape adoption strategies alongside change and OCM teams

• Internal Enablement
– Contribute to best practices, playbooks, and reusable models
– Mentor rising leaders in consulting and client management

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years in consulting or enterprise leadership focused on AI, analytics, or digital transformation
• Demonstrated success leading complex engagements and owning outcomes
• Strong ability to manage executive stakeholders and resolve high-level issues
• Experience guiding AI or technology programs through strategy, design, and delivery
• Deep knowledge of AI tech, enterprise data platforms, and modern architecture
• Familiarity with responsible AI, governance, and risk practices
• Outstanding communication skills and executive presence
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and product teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AHEAD’s ecosystem: cloud, data, platform engineering, and AI platforms
• Published thought leadership in AI or digital transformation
• Certifications in AI governance, program management, or change management
• Experience delivering multi-agent or agentic automation solutions

$280,000 – $325,000 per year

The compensation range shown reflects On-Target Earnings, including base salary and any target bonus. Actual OTE may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location.
