The Senior Events Manager (UK) is part of the Regional Marketing team and helps drive business growth by delivering major marketing events across the UK that strengthen our communities’ connection to and understanding of Xero. Xero events are globally recognised for bringing our brand promise to life and inspiring audiences. In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to lead and execute end‑to‑end event experiences that embody our brand and support the UK operating plan.
As a senior individual contributor, you will be relied upon to shape and implement the UK event strategy while consistently aiming to exceed customer expectations and support the achievement of UK business OKRs. Your contribution to how events help meet these objectives will be essential.
You will be a core member of a small team responsible for delivering our events portfolio, including Xerocon, Xero Roadshow, and the Xero Awards, along with our participation in external industry events. Strong organisation, communication, and project management skills will be crucial, as will building and maintaining collaborative relationships across numerous cross‑functional teams.
What you’ll do
• Plan and deliver exceptional Xero events across the UK, including Xerocon, Xero Roadshow, Xero Awards, and our involvement in external industry events.
• Lead end‑to‑end project management across all workstreams, including event concept development, theme creation, setting objectives, planning content, tracking metrics, and managing budgets.
• Work closely with key stakeholders—internal teams and external suppliers—to ensure events meet strategic goals and align with the UK marketing plan.
• Play an important role in shaping the UK event strategy in alignment with global event direction and organisational objectives.
• Ensure the Xero brand is consistently represented across all events, following brand guidelines, especially when working with external production partners.
• Create efficiencies across UK events by developing, updating, and implementing standardised operating processes.
• Maintain strong, productive relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Comms, Education, Creative, Agencies, and Sales.
• Provide guidance and mentorship within the wider marketing team, stepping in as second‑in‑command to the Head of Events when needed.
• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, recognising that every element of an event contributes to delivering the right customer experience.
• Own event objectives, track progress, and conduct post‑event reviews, capturing insights, ROI, attendee engagement, and other key learnings.
• Lead event briefs for internal and external creative partners, ensuring event presence is fully resourced, on‑brand, and delivered to a high standard.
• Communicate updates to stakeholders and the broader business, including leading staff briefings and retrospective sessions.
Specific responsibilities
Sponsorship management
• Act as the primary contact for sponsorships requiring event team support.
• Ensure all sponsorship deliverables align with agreed contracts.
• Manage logistics such as stand setup, registrations, lead capture, staffing, and content delivery.
• Coordinate deliverables with third parties, internal creative teams, and external suppliers.
• Collaborate with partner and small business marketing teams to deliver content and meet wider marketing goals.
Reporting
• Provide event insights and data‑driven feedback to key stakeholders.
• Share findings and lessons learned across marketing and the broader business.
• Deliver post‑event strategic recommendations to the UK team and wider organisation.
Event technology
• Ensure consistent use of event technology across UK Xero events.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and improvement, and make recommendations to enhance event experiences for teams and customers.
• Work with the Marketing Operations Team when needed to implement or refine processes.
Success looks like
• Designing all UK event elements to drive growth across key metrics such as brand performance, NPS, attendance, and—where relevant—sales pipeline.
• Taking full ownership of planning and delivering world‑class UK events on time, within budget, and with measurable ROI.
• Becoming a trusted and valued partner to the UK go‑to‑market teams and the global brand and activations team.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key cross‑functional stakeholders.
What you’ll bring with you
• Extensive experience in event management and marketing.
• A proven track record of delivering timely, results‑oriented events or campaigns.
• Ability to analyse data, draw insights, and make strategic programme‑level recommendations.
• Proficiency with Salesforce and event management software.
• Strong project management abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent time‑management, communication, and writing skills.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end marketing event management.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence effectively, adapting your approach to achieve optimal outcomes.
