The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week hands-on learning opportunity offered by Stand Together Fellowships. It provides valuable work experience at nonprofit organizations across the country that are addressing some of the nation’s most critical issues. During the internship, participants engage in weekly virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1–5 p.m. ET, where they receive mentorship from experienced professionals and work on a capstone project centered on a personally meaningful topic. Interns receive a stipend of either $5,500 for full-time (40 hours/week) or $3,300 for part-time (28 hours/week) participation.

Applicants will go through interviews with both the nonprofit partners and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so early applications are encouraged.

About Us

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is the largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators in the U.S., committed to limited government, free markets, and federalism. Representing nearly a quarter of the nation’s state legislators and a wide range of policy stakeholders, ALEC members serve over 60 million Americans and support more than 30 million jobs nationwide.

ALEC advocates for a government that is efficient, effective, and accountable to its citizens. It offers a platform for experts to discuss key business and economic issues facing states. The ALEC model policy library features innovative ideas aimed at lowering everyday costs and promoting economic freedom. These policies and publications are the result of extensive research and collaboration, serving as resources for those looking to improve government efficiency and reduce its size and cost. ALEC is committed to providing practical solutions to the most pressing state-level challenges, demonstrating the power of shared ideas.

About the Role

The Finance and Accounting Intern will support the Vice President of Finance and Administration in managing the organization’s operations and budget. This role is ideal for a self-driven individual interested in gaining experience in nonprofit accounting. The intern should be capable of taking initiative, exercising sound judgment, and maintaining organized and detailed records.
