Position Overview
The Global Privacy Associate reports directly to the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and provides hands-on operational support for Care Access’s global privacy initiatives.

This role is detail-focused and responsible for the daily execution of privacy-related tasks. Responsibilities include managing workflows such as intake processes, DPIA/RoPA documentation, vendor assessments, DSAR tracking, quality incident documentation, and implementing privacy controls across clinical and corporate systems. You’ll also help prepare responses to privacy-related RFPs, audits, and due diligence requests from clients and regulators.

We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience, a willingness to learn, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence. Strong documentation abilities, curiosity, and follow-through are key. This is a great opportunity to gain in-depth operational experience in global health privacy under the mentorship of the DPO.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

– Support daily privacy operations, including documentation, tracking, and compliance records
– Draft and update privacy documents such as DPIAs, TIA checklists, RoPA entries, vendor reviews, DSARs, and consent logs
– Assist in responding to privacy-related RFPs, RFIs, audits, and due diligence questionnaires
– Manage DSAR intake and tracking workflows
– Review vendor privacy and security documents, including DPAs, subprocessor lists, and TOMs
– Maintain internal privacy tools and trackers
– Help investigate privacy-related quality incidents with the DPO and QA team, including documentation, root cause analysis, and follow-up
– Collaborate with legal, IT, security, clinical, and operations teams to meet privacy requirements

Physical and Travel Requirements:
This is a remote role with less than 10% travel expected. Occasional planned travel may be required.

What You Bring:

Role Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree and 2-3+ years of experience in global privacy compliance
– At least 2 years of experience in healthcare or life sciences privacy, ideally in clinical research or pharmaceuticals
– Hands-on experience applying international privacy laws and regulations

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

– Strong understanding of global data protection and AI-related laws, including US, Canadian, and European standards
– Familiarity with health data regulations such as HIPAA
– Knowledge of data security and risk management
– Ability to clearly explain privacy concepts to non-experts
– Practical experience translating privacy rules into actionable measures
– Positive, proactive attitude and commitment to high-quality work
– Ability to stay informed on relevant legal and regulatory changes

Certifications/Licenses, Education, and Experience:

– CIPP certification(s) highly preferred
