We’re looking for a highly motivated qualified accountant to join our fast‑moving, rapidly growing Finance team and take charge of our low‑carbon tech inventory.
What you’ll do
• Take full responsibility for the accounting and financial management of inventory, including warehouse and van stock.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels and movements.
• Carry out regular inventory reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and ensure they’re resolved promptly.
• Create and maintain standard costing models for budgeting and forecasting, ensuring they’re accurate and aligned with business needs.
• Monitor and assess cost variances, working with operations to enhance cost control and efficiency.
• Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries and ensuring accuracy in inventory‑related financial statements.
• Provide detailed reporting and analysis on inventory levels, usage, and cost trends to support senior management decisions.
• Implement and maintain internal controls over inventory processes and systems to ensure compliance with policies and accounting standards.
• Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory accuracy and optimise stock holdings.
• Partner with auditors during inventory audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Continuously improve inventory accounting processes and systems for greater accuracy and efficiency.
What you’ll need
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of post‑qualification experience focused on cost accounting, inventory management, or similar areas.
• Solid technical accounting knowledge, especially in inventory accounting and cost analysis.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Experience in energy, manufacturing, or related sectors is helpful but not essential.
