MAIN JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a qualified Hebrew linguist to serve as a backup Language Lead for a key account. This role involves stepping in to manage review tasks when the primary Hebrew Language Lead is unavailable or when additional support is needed to manage the workload.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive linguistic reviews and quality assurance to ensure all content adheres to required standards and client-specific guidelines. In these instances, you will act as the lead reviewer, assuming the responsibilities of the main Language Lead.
The ideal candidate should be available to work during Pacific Standard Time business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) to meet client delivery schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Serve as the liaison between the client (and third-party reviewers) and Welocalize linguists.
– Ensure overall quality remains below the 97% fail rate threshold.
– Monitor daily Language Quality Evaluation (LQE) results, both passed and failed.
– Compile LQE updates and share them with all linguists on the account.
– Review linguist deliverables, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
– Assist with the review process as needed to help maintain quality standards.
– Help linguists understand corrections and clarify with the client when necessary.
– Provide support during the arbitration process.
– Address linguists’ production-related questions and escalate issues when needed.
– Identify challenging content or underperforming linguists and recommend adjustments.
– Flag and propose solutions for workload-related concerns to the Welocalize Language Services team.
– Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
– Create and deliver training materials and sessions for linguists.
– Organize regular meetings with reviewers and Language Services to discuss feedback, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment across the team.
– Assist Welocalize in identifying and assessing potential new candidates.

REQUIRED SKILLS
– At least 5 years of experience translating and reviewing content in the relevant subject areas.
– Expertise in Legal, Marketing, Support, Product, and Product/Service domains.
– Proficiency with translation and terminology tools.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
– Native-level fluency in Hebrew.
– Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
– Ability to follow specific instructions, such as character limits.
– Capable of explaining translation decisions clearly.
– Skilled in both translation and review tasks.
– Experience with machine translation post-editing.
– Familiarity with multi-vendor environments is a plus.
