As a Layout Artist, you will be responsible for creating the film’s previs, aligning with the storytelling vision to determine how characters and environments are presented on screen.

Responsibilities:

– Build 3D shots to visually explore the sets.
– Convey the story visually based on storyboards, adding cinematic depth to scenes.
– Assist in rough scene layouts to show character and environment placement on camera.
– Use storyboard animatics to develop 3D scenes with character blocking and acting.
– Apply visual references from character design and modeling to craft rough scene layouts.
– Oversee the film’s cinematography from initial scouting to final camera polish.
– Stay informed on current artistic techniques and technological tools to enhance creative and technical workflows.
– Effectively manage and break down scenes.
– Collaborate with team members as needed.
– Follow direction from Supervisors and Leads.

Requirements:

– 3–5 years of experience in VFX or animation.
– Minimum of 1 year in the animation industry.
– Strong artistic and/or technical skills in 3D animation.
– Proficiency in Maya and DaVinci Resolve.
– Experience with Linux and Unreal Engine is a plus.
– Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
– Spanish is a plus.
