Hinge is the dating app built to be deleted.
In today’s digital age, forming real connections is more challenging than ever. At Hinge, our goal is to foster meaningful relationships and reduce loneliness. We focus on understanding user behavior to help people find love, and we measure our success by how many great dates we help create. With millions of users worldwide, Hinge has become a trusted platform for building relationships.
About the Role:
Our aim is to help more people go on meaningful dates, and that journey begins with the new user experience. We want newcomers to immediately see how Hinge can help them form genuine connections.
As the Lead Product Manager for New User Experience, you’ll define how Hinge builds trust from the first interaction. You’ll create experiences that quickly adapt to different users—whether they’re new to dating apps or returning—so they feel understood right away.
You’ll work closely with teams across Growth, Trust & Safety, and Recommendations to address cold-start challenges—like making early recommendations relevant and ensuring the first experiences are engaging and rewarding.
Responsibilities:
– Develop a long-term strategy and roadmap to personalize and build trust in the new user journey.
– Lead discovery and rapid testing during the early stages of dating.
– Collaborate with design, research, data science, and engineering to explore how personalization and empathetic design can improve results.
– Use data and user feedback to inform decisions and shape a focused roadmap.
– Work with engineering to turn ideas into impactful product features.
– Clearly communicate priorities and trade-offs across teams and leadership.
– Ensure a consistent, emotionally intelligent, and trustworthy product experience across Hinge.
– Partner with Marketing to align product and go-to-market strategies that attract and engage new users, including those new to dating apps.
– Mentor other product managers in discovery, decision-making, and hypothesis-driven development.
What We’re Looking For:
– 8+ years of product management experience in consumer tech, ideally in personalization or social platforms.
– Proven success in launching new products that deliver measurable results.
– Experience creating adaptive or machine learning-based solutions to cold-start problems.
– Skilled in running hypothesis-based experiments and making decisions with limited data.
– Action-oriented with the ability to lead long-term projects with clarity and momentum.
– Strong sense of user experience, storytelling, and emotional design.
– Excellent communicator who can simplify complex topics and influence cross-functional teams.
– Curious about culture and how people connect today.
– Passionate about Hinge’s mission to help people form meaningful relationships.
Research shows that some individuals, especially women and underrepresented groups, may hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re passionate about helping people connect and believe you’d thrive in this role, we encourage you to apply—even if your experience doesn’t match every requirement.
