Scholar Rock is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering transformative therapies for individuals with serious diseases that currently lack effective treatment options. As a global leader in the science of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily of proteins—and named for the resemblance between these protein structures and traditional scholar rocks—the company focuses on innovative treatments where protein growth factors play a key role. Over the past ten years, Scholar Rock has built a promising pipeline aimed at improving care for conditions such as neuromuscular diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, cancer, and other illnesses where targeting growth factors could be revolutionary.

Scholar Rock is the first and only company to demonstrate clinical proof of concept for a muscle-targeted therapy in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). This achievement reflects its commitment to pioneering new therapeutic approaches, driven by a proprietary platform that creates highly selective monoclonal antibodies to modulate protein growth factors. By applying advanced science to areas often underserved by conventional treatments, Scholar Rock is working to open new possibilities for patients.
