About the Role
The Medical Project Manager plays an essential role in independently managing accounts and projects of different sizes and complexities, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality standards. This position is key to achieving and surpassing client expectations and involves working closely with an extended team and senior leaders.
As the main point of contact on client projects, Medical Project Managers coordinate with partner agencies, manage timelines, and resolve issues as they arise. They must have strong project management skills, including financial reporting, proficiency with project management tools, and effective time and priority management. They are also expected to build strong client relationships, collaborate effectively with internal teams, guide junior colleagues, support workload management, participate in meetings, and contribute valuable insights to keep projects moving smoothly while becoming a trusted internal and client partner.
What You’ll Do
• Project Oversight: Independently manage smaller accounts and standard projects while supporting the management of larger, more complex accounts.
• Account Understanding: Develop familiarity with core business and brand goals as well as relevant therapy areas.
• Financial Management: Support project financials, address out-of-scope items, and recommend solutions.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain consistent communication with clients and stakeholders, sharing updates and raising concerns when needed.
• Timeline Management: Lead project timelines, act as the central source of information, and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Resource Allocation and Management: Coordinate and manage resources to ensure teams are appropriately staffed and workloads are balanced.
• Opportunity Identification: Identify and help develop new opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
Additional tasks may include:
• Creating budgets, managing out-of-scope activities, performing financial reconciliations, and assisting with complex budgets.
• Improving project management processes to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Developing and updating project schedules.
• Supporting account financial planning and reporting.
• Assisting with invoicing and financial tracking.
• Leading internal and client status calls.
• Keeping status documents updated and ensuring timely responses to client requests.
• Mentoring Associate Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Participating in debriefs and applying feedback.
About You
• At least 3 years of project management experience, ideally within a Medical Communications agency.
Salary Range: 85,000 to 95,000 USD per year, depending on experience.
