Position Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and driven professional to join the Office of the General Counsel in a hybrid role that blends Corporate Paralegal duties, Executive Support, and Legal Operations Management. This key role supports the General Counsel of General Administration and plays a critical part in ensuring legal and operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Paralegal:
– Prepare, review, and manage legal documents, contracts, intellectual property filings, and corporate records
– Assist the General Counsel in preparing for Board and committee meetings
– Support policy development and updates, compliance, and license renewals
– Conduct legal research and assist with litigation or transactions as needed

Legal Operations:
– Coordinate and oversee legal workflows, managing and prioritizing legal requests
– Implement tools and systems to improve the efficiency of the legal department
– Partner with other teams to streamline and automate processes
– Assist in managing legal vendors, contracts, budgets, and departmental expenses
– Innovate and scale legal operations, including evaluating new technologies

Executive Support:
– Lead and support strategic cross-functional initiatives and projects
– Enhance internal processes to boost operational efficiency
– Support executive decision-making, program management, and internal communications
– Act as a liaison between executives, staff, and external stakeholders
– Identify organizational needs and contribute to developing effective solutions
– Research and recommend relevant conferences and events for participation

Required Skills and Qualifications:
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking capabilities
– Proven experience in project management and legal administration
– Knowledge of legal and compliance issues
– Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, high-responsibility environment
– High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
– Commitment to personal growth and understanding of systemic oppression, with a willingness to examine personal privilege and power
– Positive, solution-oriented attitude with a collaborative spirit and a sense of humor

Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree required
– Advanced degree or paralegal certification preferred
– Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: corporate paralegal work, executive support, or legal operations

Salary:
$125,000 annually

Compensation and Benefits:
The Sierra Club offers a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
