We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Leader/Manager to lead and mentor our core development team and shape our technical strategy. This role is ideal for a seasoned technologist with a strong foundation in full-stack development and system architecture, who has successfully transitioned into a leadership role and excels in team management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a full-time, remote-friendly position. Our engineering team generally works on Eastern Standard Time, with members based in Baltimore, New York, San Francisco, and across the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
– Strategic & Architectural Leadership: Define and drive the long-term technical vision, ensuring scalable and high-performing solutions that align with business goals. Lead system architecture decisions, establish best practices, and maintain engineering excellence.
– Team & Talent Development: Manage and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation. Support team growth and career development.
– Cross-Functional & Business Alignment: Serve as the key liaison between engineering, product, and operations to ensure smooth feature delivery and shared technical understanding. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Qualifications:
– 10+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
– Strong proficiency in full-stack development (e.g., React, TypeScript, JavaScript, PostgreSQL or similar) and experience building scalable systems in production environments.
– Deep understanding of modern software architecture, including practical experience with microservices, event-driven systems, or domain-driven design.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
– Familiarity with modern DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
– Skilled at making data-driven decisions in high-pressure situations and proactively solving system-wide technical challenges.
Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 per year
