Product Managers at Plaid are curious, customer-focused, and move quickly to deliver impact. As a Product Manager on the AI Foundations team, you’ll lead Plaid’s AI strategy by building the data and intelligence infrastructure that enables smarter financial experiences. You’ll collaborate with engineering, data science, and research teams to create scalable AI systems—from foundational embeddings and representation learning to applied model integrations that improve outcomes for developers and users.
This role is ideal for an experienced product manager who excels at the intersection of AI and platform development. You are technically adept, strategic, and focused on execution. You enjoy transforming advanced machine learning capabilities into dependable, scalable infrastructure across Plaid’s ecosystem.
Responsibilities
– Define the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for Plaid’s core AI and data platform to support more intelligent and adaptive financial products.
– Collaborate with Engineering and Data Science to build scalable AI systems, including model training, evaluation pipelines, and APIs that deliver intelligence at scale.
– Lead projects from idea to launch, balancing fast experimentation with reliability, transparency, and ethical AI practices.
– Work closely with research, platform, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities across Plaid’s products and developer tools.
– Use data, model performance, and customer feedback to measure impact, guide priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
– Communicate complex AI topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering alignment across teams.
Qualifications
– 8+ years of product management experience, including leading AI/ML or applied intelligence products from concept through launch with measurable results.
– Strong technical understanding of how modern machine learning systems are built, evaluated, deployed, and monitored, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and data scientists.
– Ability to define long-term AI strategies while delivering short-term experiments and product launches.
– Experience building scalable developer or data platforms using well-designed APIs, frameworks, and system components.
– Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of translating complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
– Commitment to ethical and transparent AI, especially in regulated or high-trust environments.
– (Preferred) Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), embeddings, or agent-based systems in production.
– (Preferred) Experience applying AI in regulated or high-trust sectors like fintech, identity, or risk.
Compensation
The base salary for this role ranges from $202,800 to $330,000 annually, depending on location. Additional compensation may include equity and/or commissions, based on the role. Plaid also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Compensation is determined by factors such as job scope, experience, skills, and location, and may change over time.
