Our Mission
Since its launch in 2012, Tinder® has transformed the way people connect, going from a single match to one billion in just two years. This explosive growth highlights its ability to meet a core human need: genuine connection. Today, Tinder has been downloaded over 630 million times, resulting in more than 97 billion matches. It serves around 50 million users monthly across 190 countries and in over 45 languages—reaching a scale unmatched by any other app in its category. In 2024, Tinder earned four Effie Awards for its first global brand campaign, “It Starts with a Swipe”™.

The Role
We’re hiring a PM II to lead the strategy and execution of our machine learning-powered lifecycle notification program. You’ll work closely with ML engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to develop smarter, more personalized messaging that drives key business outcomes and helps users form real connections. You’ll manage the full lifecycle of content delivered through push notifications, in-app messages, SMS, and more.
You’ll join the Engagement team, which oversees all user-facing notifications at Tinder. Our goal is to deliver the right message to the right user at the right time to drive meaningful dating outcomes. We manage a custom CRM platform, develop lifecycle notifications, and operate systems that send billions of messages each quarter. Through ML targeting and bold experimentation, we drive feature adoption, user retention, and engagement. We move quickly, learn continuously, and scale intentionally.
This hybrid role requires in-office collaboration three days a week and is based in Los Angeles, CA.
In this role, you will:
– Define and lead the roadmap for ML-powered notification personalization and delivery
– Collaborate with teams across Tinder to create lifecycle messaging that boosts engagement and retention
– Clearly communicate experiment plans, hypotheses, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
– Own product specifications and lead development for ML-based lifecycle features across client, backend, and content
– Use analytics tools to assess campaigns and identify areas for improvement using both data and user insights
– Make thoughtful, data-driven decisions balancing scope, quality, and speed—and explain those choices to stakeholders
– Understand Tinder’s ecosystem, user behavior, and psychology to shape your product strategy
You’ll need:
– 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in consumer tech or mobile-first environments
– Hands-on experience working with ML teams on notifications or personalization
– Strong analytical skills, including comfort with dashboards and SQL
– A proactive mindset—you can turn vague ideas into actionable plans and deliver results
– Curiosity—you seek to understand the “why” behind user behavior and use it to guide decisions
– Excellent communication skills—you can simplify complex topics and collaborate effectively across teams
Bonus if you have:
– Experience working with ML engineers on predictive or reinforcement learning models for personalization
– Background in lifecycle marketing, including cross-channel strategy, content creation, and testing
– Experience in mobile gaming, two-sided marketplaces, or other high-engagement platforms
As a full-time employee, you’ll enjoy:
– Unlimited paid time off (available immediately), plus 10 Wellness Days annually
– Volunteer time off and donation matching
– Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
– 100% 401(k) match up to 10%, and access to an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
– Fully paid parental leave for all parents, family planning benefits, and Milk Stork services for breast milk shipping during travel, surrogacy, or relocation
– Professional development support including mentorship, access to over 6,000 Udemy courses, and an annual learning stipend
– Wellness benefits including mental health support, concierge medical services, pet insurance, fitness and commuter subsidies
– Free premium subscriptions to several Match Group apps—including Tinder Platinum
Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 per year
Final compensation will depend on factors like role scope, experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. This range is based on a position located in West Hollywood, CA and may be adjusted for other locations if remote work is approved.
