Job Title: Revenue Data Analyst

Position Summary:
The Revenue Data Analyst will support Sierra Club’s fundraising teams by providing insights into donor behavior and donation trends to help grow revenue. This role involves creating compelling self-service dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights. The analyst will collaborate with fundraising and donor data teams to promote a data-informed culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting & Analysis:

– Create and maintain regular revenue reports, dashboards, and forecasts for major giving, tracking progress and identifying trends.
– Analyze giving patterns, donor segments, and fundraising strategies to uncover growth opportunities.
– Produce ad-hoc reports and analyses for leadership.
– Conduct detailed donor analysis to identify potential mid-level and major donors and predict future contributions.
– Segment donors to support targeted outreach efforts.

Data Management & Optimization:

– Support data imports, exports, and maintenance within Salesforce and related systems.
– Identify and resolve data inconsistencies to ensure accuracy across platforms.
– Contribute to cross-functional projects involving fundraising data, system integration, and reporting.

Process Documentation & Improvement:

– Document current data workflows and policies in Salesforce and other systems.
– Identify and implement improvements in data collection, organization, and reporting processes.
– Work with the Advancement team to uphold data governance standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

– At least 3 years of experience in a data-focused role (e.g., data analyst, scientist, manager, or engineer) with a focus on generating insights.
– Minimum 2 years of experience using fundraising CRMs for revenue tracking and reporting.
– Skilled in creating dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Looker Studio.
– Proficient in SQL for querying and compiling data from multiple sources.
– Strong Excel skills, including formulas, charts, and pivot tables.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
– Highly organized and able to manage work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
– Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.
– Committed to personal growth and understanding of systemic oppression, with a willingness to reflect on and adjust personal behaviors accordingly.
– Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a collaborative and supportive approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

– Proficiency in Salesforce for revenue tracking and reporting.
– Experience with Civis Platform.
– Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and cleaning.
– Understanding of major donor fundraising strategies.
– Background in nonprofit advocacy organizations or political campaigns.

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 annually

Compensation & Benefits:
This role is union-represented and subject to the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Sierra Club offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan. This is a Category 5, exempt, represented position.
