Our client is a reputable and expanding electrical contractor serving commercial, industrial, and institutional clients across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Renowned for prioritizing safety, integrity, and high-quality workmanship, the company delivers a broad range of electrical services with a focus on building lasting client relationships. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Business Development Specialist to spearhead growth initiatives and support long-term expansion.

Position Summary:

This opportunity is ideal for a driven, client-oriented professional with a strong background in outside sales and service-based selling. The Business Development Specialist will play a dual role as both a new business generator and an account manager, responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and serving as the key link between clients and internal teams.

This is a service-focused sales role, not product sales. You will represent the company in the field, meeting with clients, assessing their needs, and presenting tailored service solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Prospecting:

– Identify and pursue potential clients including general contractors, businesses, and property groups in the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
– Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline across North Carolina.
– Conduct market research to remain informed on industry trends and competitors.

Client Relationship Management:

– Develop and sustain long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
– Understand client requirements and deliver customized electrical service solutions.
– Act as the primary point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and service excellence.

Sales Presentations & Proposals:

– Create and present persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.
– Draft comprehensive proposals with clear timelines and pricing.
– Negotiate terms, close deals, and manage post-sale expectations.

Project & Account Coordination:

– Collaborate with estimating, budgeting, and leadership teams to ensure seamless project execution.
– Address and resolve client concerns professionally throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting & Strategic Planning:

– Track and report on sales activities, client engagement, and project milestones.
– Consistently meet or exceed sales targets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
– Provide strategic insights and feedback to leadership based on market and client input.

Collaboration & Development:

– Design and implement effective sales campaigns and marketing strategies.
– Share knowledge and support the development of team members.
– Stay current on industry regulations and compliance standards relevant to electrical contracting.

Required Qualifications:

– Minimum of 3 years of B2B outside sales, account management, or client relations experience.
– Experience in electrical contracting, construction, or facilities management is highly preferred.
– Familiarity with the Raleigh, NC market and surrounding areas.
– Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
– Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
