Position Overview
The Logistics Manager for Delivery and Supply Chain is responsible for managing the logistical operations of the organization. This includes leading operational initiatives, overseeing transportation and equipment logistics, managing site setups and teardowns, ensuring compliance and safety, and supervising a team of logistics professionals. The role focuses on optimizing efficiency and supporting the organization’s research and delivery goals.
What You’ll Be Working On (Key Responsibilities):
Warehouse Operations Leadership:
– Manage all aspects of warehouse operations including inventory, equipment upkeep, labeling, receiving, and order fulfillment.
– Ensure inventory and shipping data accuracy within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
– Uphold high operational standards in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
Equipment Readiness & Distribution:
– Oversee shipping and receiving processes, verify product specifications, and ensure accurate labeling and storage.
– Coordinate equipment staging and transport for clinical trial readiness.
– Support logistics for mobile infrastructure and time-sensitive trial setups.
Team Management & Development:
– Lead, mentor, and train warehouse staff in areas such as shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
– Foster a safe, collaborative, and performance-driven warehouse environment.
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement:
– Implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.
– Promote warehouse best practices and engage in cross-functional improvement initiatives.
– Maintain audit readiness and proper documentation for all warehouse activities.
Other Responsibilities:
– Ensure warehouse readiness for clinical events, including flexible scheduling (nights/weekends).
– Work with procurement and logistics teams to align equipment sourcing and distribution.
Scope of Role:
– Autonomy: Operates with limited supervision.
– Direct Reports: Yes.
– Number of Reports: 2–5.
– Positions Managed: Warehouse Team Leader, Warehouse Specialists.
Physical Requirements:
– Must work on-site in a warehouse setting and operate various equipment.
– Must regularly lift over 40 pounds and be mobile within the facility.
– Frequent computer use and data entry required.
– Physical activity breakdown: Walking 20%, Standing 25%, Sitting 30%, Lifting 20%, Driving 5%.
Travel Requirements:
– Primarily site-based with up to 10% travel for events or facility coordination.
– Travel Type: National.
What You Bring (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
– 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations and logistics, preferably in clinical or regulated environments.
– 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
– Strong decision-making and crisis management skills in fast-paced settings.
– Proficient with warehouse and inventory systems like NetSuite or similar WMS.
– Familiar with Microsoft Office, timekeeping systems, and warehouse equipment.
– Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, and a positive team culture.
– Lean/process improvement certifications such as Six Sigma are a plus.
Certifications, Education, and Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
– Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite or Oracle preferred.
– Experience with mobile infrastructure or field operations is advantageous.
– Valid driver’s license required for operating and transporting company vehicles.
