The Editorial team delivers high-quality, distinctive visual content across news, sports, and entertainment, focusing on real people, events, and factual storytelling. We also manage and expand one of the world’s largest archives of historically and socially significant photographs, videos, and prints.

Who You Are:
As a Sports Photographer with a passion for creative and dynamic storytelling, you’ll be responsible for capturing, editing, and delivering both still images and video content. Your work will support editorial and commercial needs, with a focus on innovation and visual excellence. You’ll operate independently or under the guidance of senior creatives, applying advanced photography skills, lighting techniques, and editing expertise. Your assignments will range from grassroots events to major global competitions like Formula One and World Championships, as well as commercial projects for brands and partners. Your goal is to capture compelling sports moments with a fresh perspective while maintaining high editorial standards and contributing to the evolution of our creative vision. This role requires frequent and extended travel, and typically suits someone with 5+ years of professional experience in sports photography.

– Capture, edit, and deliver content for editorial and commercial use.
– Bring a unique and innovative approach to sports photography.
– Provide accurate metadata and descriptions for all content.
– Build strong collaborative relationships internally and externally.
– Set a high standard as a creative leader in both editorial and commercial photography.
– Represent Getty Images as a brand ambassador and foster new opportunities.
– Build partnerships with clients, sports organizations, and athletes.

What You’ll Need:

– Established experience in global sports photography, especially in football, motorsport, and winter sports.
– Proven ability to fulfill commercial briefs for global brands and partners.
– Strong organizational and communication skills.
– Proficiency in digital photography, professional camera and lighting equipment, and editing software.
– Technical expertise in camera setup, remote shooting, FTP transmission, and networking.
– Willingness to adopt and implement new technologies.
– Flexibility to travel frequently and on short notice, both domestically and internationally.
– Fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
– A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport.
– A strong understanding of editorial integrity as outlined in our Editorial Standards.

You should also be able to deliver top-tier content in the following areas:

– Portraits: Create artistic and technically sound portraits of athletes or teams.
– Features: Leverage industry connections to produce in-depth sports features.
– Action: Capture peak moments that convey the excitement of sports.
– Stock: Upload timely second edits to enhance our stock image library.
– Event Coverage: Provide comprehensive and high-quality coverage of events.
– Commercial Content: Execute client-specific briefs and manage relationships with brands, athletes, and sports bodies.

What You Can Expect (Physical and Mental Demands):

– Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends and holidays, based on event schedules.
– Willingness to travel extensively and work on location for extended periods.
– Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
– Work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme weather.
– Exposure to bright lights and loud environments during assignments.
