The Role:

At Ro, our goal is to deliver exceptional healthcare by prioritizing patients, which relies on dependable, secure, and scalable systems. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on the infrastructure team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability of our production systems, strengthening our infrastructure, and developing tools that help engineers deploy code safely and confidently.

You’ll collaborate across teams to enhance uptime, performance, and observability, working closely with product, platform, and security engineers. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy making a significant impact and are committed to operational excellence—from building robust systems to improving incident response processes.

What You’ll Do:

– Design and build resilient infrastructure to support high availability at scale
– Develop and maintain tools and platforms that simplify system deployment, monitoring, and recovery
– Lead incident response efforts and apply lessons learned to reduce downtime and improve recovery times
– Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate best practices for reliability, resilience, and observability
– Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud-native tools
– Promote a culture of operational excellence by mentoring teams on reliability practices and setting high standards across engineering

What You’ll Bring:

– Strong knowledge of systems and infrastructure, with experience managing distributed services in production (primarily using AWS services like EKS, RDS, Route53, S3, and ElastiCache)
– Proficient in programming and automation, especially with Python and Go
– Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
– Passionate about observability, with hands-on experience using Datadog for metrics, logging, and tracing
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
– A mindset focused on reliability and resilience as essential product features

The base salary for this role ranges from $179,000 to $212,000, along with a competitive equity and benefits package. Final compensation is based on factors such as location, skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.

Ro supports a hybrid work model that values in-person collaboration. Employees in the New York tri-state area work from the HQ on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those outside the area can participate in periodic in-person events like team offsites.
