The Impact You Will Have:

The Sonar Code Quality Team is looking for a passionate and creative Software Engineer.

Our mission is to develop advanced solutions that automatically detect and prevent critical issues in source code—whether written by humans or AI.

This role offers the chance to apply your expertise in static analysis in a forward-thinking environment, integrating AI and large language models (LLMs) in a setting closely tied to applied research.

As a software engineer, you’ll work at the crossroads of cutting-edge technology and programming language semantics, helping us uncover complex issues that often go unnoticed by both human reviewers and automated tools.

What You Will Do Daily:

– Contribute to End-to-End Delivery: Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, and researchers to define and implement advanced code analysis and bug detection features. This includes writing code and tests, conducting code reviews, validating features, and responding to user feedback.
– Deep Dive into Language: Explore programming language semantics to enhance our analyzers.
– Evolve Analyzer Intelligence: Improve how our tools interpret code by developing new models and rules for better issue detection.
– Contribute to Strategic Goals: Work with stakeholders to help shape both short-term goals and long-term vision for your team.

The Experience You Will Need:

– 2+ years of experience in C# development.
– Solid understanding of the .NET ecosystem.
– Strong engineering skills and a solid foundation in computer science.
– Experience with static analysis is a plus.
– Quick learner.
– Interest or experience in LLMs, ML, or AI is highly valued.
– Positive, open-minded attitude.
– Comfortable with change and complexity.
– Compiler knowledge is not required—you’ll learn it on the job.

Candidates must be located near our Geneva or Bochum offices or be willing to relocate before starting.

Why You Will Love It Here:

– Our culture and mission make us unique. We value respect, kindness, and learning from failure.
– Great people make a great company. We prioritize people skills alongside technical skills and foster a friendly, passionate work environment.
– Flexible work policy: 3 days in-office and 2 days remote per week for those near our offices; some locations operate fully remotely.
– We embrace a growth mindset and support continuous learning.
– As industry leaders, our success is built on the strength of our team.
– We promote transparency through regular updates and meetings.

Benefits of Working With Sonar:

– Generous time-off policy: 27 PTO days for employees in the Geneva area, with more based on seniority and circumstances.
– We cover 60% of your pension contributions: 13.5–15.5% of your salary for savings, 2% for risk.
– Annual discretionary Company Growth Bonus.
– Sustainable commuting options, including carpooling and 60% reimbursement of annual transport passes.
– Global team with employees in over 20 countries and 35+ nationalities.
– Annual company-wide kickoff event to build relationships and align on goals.
