Sonar

HQ: On-site

  • OFF: Austin
  • Full-Time
  • Customer Support

Sonar tackles the massive challenge posed by poor-quality code. It helps organizations reach and maintain a Clean Code state by enabling developers to create code that is consistent, purposeful, flexible, and responsible. Clean Code leads to software that is easier to maintain, more dependable, and more secure, allowing teams to spend less time fixing problems and more time innovating. By using Sonar and its Clean as You Code approach, companies can reduce risk, cut technical debt, boost productivity, and gain more value from their software in a predictable and sustainable way.

Sonar offers both open‑source and commercial products — SonarLint, SonarCloud, and SonarQube — supporting more than 30 programming languages, frameworks, and infrastructure technologies. With over 500,000 organizations and more than 7 million developers relying on Sonar to clean more than half a trillion lines of code, it plays a central role in helping teams deliver higher‑quality software.

To support the growth of our customer base and expand our service offerings, we are seeking Support Engineers to join our Support Team. In addition to joining a fast‑growing and innovative company, you will have the chance to assist customers worldwide in deploying and using our solutions and in adopting software engineering best practices.

The impact you will make
As a Support Engineer, you will help drive the adoption and integration of Sonar products. You will deliver personalized support, guide customers toward optimal implementation strategies, and promote best practices for using our tools. You will also investigate and resolve customer issues efficiently. Inside Sonar, you will act as the voice of the customer in product discussions.

Your daily responsibilities will include:
• Helping customers integrate our solutions into their development pipelines, including IDE integration, ALM and CI systems, software lifecycle components (SCM, build, test), and business applications such as authentication and databases.
• Managing technical issues from initial qualification through in‑depth investigation while maintaining strong customer communication throughout.
• Collaborating with Sales and consulting teams to enhance the customer experience and ensure our services deliver maximum value.
• Working with your team to collect, challenge, and refine customer feedback and share it with product teams to guide future enhancements.
• Contributing ideas and feedback to continuously improve how we operate.

Skills you will bring
• Over 5 years of experience maintaining and delivering high‑quality software using industry best practices.
• At least 3 years of experience using or administering a DevOps pipeline, including SCM systems (Git, SVN), IDEs (Visual Studio, IntelliJ), and CI platforms (Jenkins Pipelines, Azure DevOps, BitBucket, GitLab).
• Experience handling system‑wide deployments, recognizing that issues can stem from networks, servers, databases, or other infrastructure.
• Strong investigative abilities to understand issues in context and reproduce them when needed.
• A collaborative mindset, open to giving and receiving feedback and sharing knowledge.
• A proactive attitude, ready to challenge existing processes and contribute to improvements and innovation.
