Talent Acquisition collaborates closely with Human Resources and Operations leadership to develop and implement recruitment strategies, oversee the hiring process for both internal and external candidates, and support the full recruitment cycle along with other centralized hiring initiatives. The Talent Acquisition Intern will gain exposure to various departments within the organization and assist in building candidate pipelines by using recruitment tools to source, evaluate, and maintain a pool of potential candidates for the facilities we serve.

The internship will run from May 18, 2026, to August 7, 2026. Applicants must reside in the Des Moines, IA area and be available to work onsite three days per week. Housing assistance is not provided.

Key Responsibilities may include:

– Collaborating with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Specialists to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
– Conducting phone interviews, assessing candidate qualifications, scheduling interviews, and tracking progress through to job offers.
– Creating and implementing innovative sourcing strategies using vendor tools, recruitment technologies, and platforms such as social media and digital channels.
– Analyzing recruitment metrics to evaluate the success of current strategies and identify areas for improvement.
– Assisting with workforce planning and forecasting recruitment needs.
– Building relationships with local organizations, schools, military programs, job fairs, and other community resources to support talent sourcing efforts.
– Providing training and support to hiring managers on interviewing techniques, candidate assessment, and selection processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

– Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related Human Resources field.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
– High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
– Positive, professional, and enthusiastic demeanor.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
– Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
– Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

– Prior knowledge or experience with recruitment processes and strategies.
– Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems, HRIS, or other CRM/data management tools.
– Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree.
– Bilingual (English/Spanish).
– Experience working with vulnerable populations, including the elderly and disabled, with a demonstrated ability to show empathy and provide support to improve their quality of life.
