Scholar Rock is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering, developing, and delivering transformative treatments for people with serious conditions that lack effective therapies. As a global leader in the biology of the transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) superfamily—and named for the resemblance between a scholar rock and protein structures—the clinical‑stage company focuses on advancing innovative treatments driven by the essential role of protein growth factors. Over the past decade, it has built a pipeline with the potential to elevate standards of care for neuromuscular diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, cancer, and other conditions where growth factor–targeted therapies can make a significant impact.

Scholar Rock is the only company to demonstrate clinical proof of concept for a muscle‑targeted therapy in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Its commitment to developing fundamentally different therapeutic approaches is fueled by broad use of its proprietary platform, which has produced novel monoclonal antibodies that modulate protein growth factors with exceptional precision. By applying cutting‑edge science in areas historically underserved by conventional treatments, Scholar Rock works to create new possibilities for patients.
